Our Philosophy
With yoga’s origins dating back thousands of years, it’s important to recognize that its original purpose was to transcend the mind and thoughts, allowing for a deeper presence in the body. Melissa loves to say, “We are not defined by our bodies or our thoughts.” Instead, they serve as tools to expand our awareness, deepen our practice, and move toward Atman—the highest expression of ourselves, and then our communities. Without awareness, there can be no change.
Melissa integrates meditation, recovery yoga, mindfulness, Hatha yoga, trauma studies and restorative practices to cultivate ease amidst the effort.
